Language is pivotal in spreading and promoting culture as a cultural symbol of regional development, making it inseparable from the globalized environment. This paper delves into the interconnected realms of language, power, and policy. Initially, we explore the characteristics of language spread and promotion, using European languages and English as examples to analyze this phenomenon. The paper focuses on initiatives such as the 'U.S.-Taiwan Education Initiative' and 'Confucius Institutes,' as well as language spread in other Asian countries, including 'Sejong hakdang' and the 'Japan Foundation.' the paper substantiates language spreading discussion with relevant data to unravel the key factors influencing language spread. In conclusion, the paper offers suggestions for fostering sustainable language spreading and promoting development.
