The Book of Changes (Zhouyi), as the first and foremost among the Chinese classics, embraces great academic and cultural significance and has always been highly regarded and studied by scholars. However, this long-standing and paramount classic has not received substantial attention it deserves in the academia of Hong Kong, not to mention the fact that its heir is scarce. Why is this the case? What are the issues at hand? How can they be resolved? These questions undoubtedly deserve our grave contemplation. This article attempts to spark discussion and explore the current status, challenges and possible resolutions for the teaching and research of the Book of Changes in Hong Kong. It hopes to contribute to the future development of its studies and promote a rich nurturing ground for local research on the Book of Changes.
