The paper comprises five parts: 1. Proposing the concept of “Global Chinese” – the rationale, 2. Chinese curriculum design and text selection under the the umbrella concept of “Global Chinese”, 3. HSK Chinese Proficiency Test and regional language tests, from the perspective of “Global Chinese”, 4. Cultural contents in Chinese language teaching from a “Global Chinese” perspective, 5. Conclusion.
