This paper theorises how challenges and solutions for international teachers of Chinese language (ITCL) training, utilizing Synergetics to analyse the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area context. Diversified training organizations, diverse training contents and forms are the characteristics of ITCL training in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. However, from the perspective of synergy theory, the main challenges to the coordinated development of ITCL training in the Greater Bay Area are the lack of a collaborative governance mechanism for teacher education, insufficient interaction of ITCL training among cities, an incomplete ITCL training system, and a lack of long-term and effective mechanism. Based on the current challenges of ITCL training in the Greater Bay Area, four coping strategies are proposed. First, foster values that enable competition to serve collaboration. Second, build a platform to connect ITCL training resources. Third, create a unique operating mechanism for teacher training teams. Fourth, improve the professional quality and ability of ITCL training lecturers in the Greater Bay Area.
